HOUSE OF ARIA

Design 4 Corners isn’t just an interior design firm. We’re a family, built on a foundation of love and appreciation. We pride ourselves on helping our clients understand the potential of their home. One of our goals when we began this company was to help others, not only design beautiful spaces for our clients, but to create spaces that help them live their everyday lives better. Interior Design is not about making spaces look good, it’s about making you feel good in that space and creating a space that one or a family can thrive in.

Our project House Of Aria was an incredible opportunity to help a well-deserving family in need and create a space what would fit their very unique needs. Our clients 7 year old daughter, Aria, was diagnosed as an infant with a Mitochondrial Disease called Leigh’s Syndrome, which to date has very little clinical research and no cure for the foreseeable future.

This heart wrenching story and journey started almost 7 years ago when Aria was a baby. Around 7 months old Aria wasn’t achieving major milestones like sitting up and was losing skills that she had already learned like feeding herself and holding her sippy cup. After several doctors’ visits and a trip to the hospital for testing she was diagnosed with Leigh’s Syndrome. Today Aria is wheelchair bound, she cannot speak, walk, feed herself or use her hands for everyday activities.

Before we began this project, Aria’s home was nowhere near wheelchair accessible. Mom and dad had to carry her upstairs to her bedroom and to the bathroom every day. We were able to redesign their home architecturally to not only allow for wider hallways and accessible bathrooms, but we added an addition to the home so that both Aria and her parent’s bedrooms and bathrooms could be on the first floor. We feel so honored to be a part of this family’s life and are blessed that we could give this well deserving family a space that fits their needs.

We worked with some amazing vendors on this project who generously donated a number of beautiful finishes and accessories that made this house a home.

Our friends from Kohler and European Kitchen and Bath in Solana Beach donated all the toilets in this home.

Top Knobs donated all the hardware through this home. We used The Channing Pull, The Kingsbridge Knob and The Kingsbridge Pull in this project.

We couldn’t have done this project without all of these vendors and our consultants. Thank you to everyone who helped complete this beautiful project!
